Past Perfect Simple

The Past Perfect Simple is used:

To describe an action which was completed

before a specific point of time in the past.

"My mom had done all the housewok by midnight"

To describe an action that was completed before

another action in the past. The second is in Past S.

"The movie has already started when we got"

to the theater."
